Dayton Black

Dayton Black, hailing from Brandon, Manitoba, showcased his immense talent as a two-way player during his high school years, excelling as both a quarterback and defensive lineman. Coach Black set impressive records in Winnipeg High School Football, including attempts (219), completions (119), and yards (1981) during his senior year, along with remarkable single-game records of 496 passing yards and 26 completions. After graduating, Black continued to elevate his game with the University of Saskatchewan Huskies, where he dressed for every game as a redshirt freshman playing defensive line. He later transitioned to left tackle in his second season, and his exceptional performance in his fourth season earned him accolades as a first-team All-Canadian in U-Sports ahead of being selected 6th overall in the 1st round by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Now in his third year with the team, Coach Black’s diverse athletic background and experience make him an exceptional asset as he mentors our Offensive Line Skill Development Series, guiding the next generation of players with insight and expertise.
