Coach Hagerty is the embodiment of a special teams standout, being a key role in the core 4 for both franchises he’s suited up for. Known for his relentless play and savvy techniques he has racked up 26 special teams tackles over a four-season CFL career. The Campbell Collegiate product earned a scholarship to the University of Saskatchewan Huskies, where he further developed his skills, racking up 72 tackles and 4 interceptions in 26 games. His dedication to special teams earned him a spot on Team Canada in 2015. In 2021 Toronto selected Hagerty 47th overall in the CFL Draft. Hagerty quickly became a key contributor on special teams, playing the core 4 and got his first career start at safety in week 14 against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. His career highlight came in 2022, winning the Grey Cup with the Toronto Argonauts. In 2024, he led the Edmonton Elks in special teams tackles, attributing his success to film study and special teams specific drills. Hagerty knows first hand what it takes to become a special teams ace, and is eager to pass on his wealth of knowledge and experience to the next generation of athletes and helping them reach their full potential.
